A BILL to amend the Code of West Virginia, 1931, as amended, by adding thereto a new section, designated §5-5-4b, relating to providing a pay increase for certain employees of the Department of Health and Human Resources.

Be it enacted by the Legislature of West Virginia:

            That the Code of West Virginia, 1931, as amended, be amended by adding thereto a new section, designated §5-5-4b, to read as follows:

ARTICLE 5. SALARY INCREASE FOR STATE EMPLOYEES.

§5-5-4b. Salary increase.

            Notwithstanding any provision in this chapter to the contrary, beginning July 1, 2015, there shall be a two percent across the board pay increase granted to all eligible employees of the various agencies of the Department of Health and Human Resources based on their respective annual salaries to be divided equally in each payment period: Provided, That the pay increase is only for those employees whose annual salary is less than $50,000 a year on the effective date of this section.

 

            NOTE: The purpose of this bill is to provide a two percent pay increase for employees of the Department of Health and Human Resources whose annual salaries are less than $50,000 per year.
